This one goes out to all the baking-challenged bakers out there (like me). If you want to make the most of your store bought sugar cookie dough, here are four hacks to make four different cookies with the same pre-packaged sugar cookie dough.

Admittedly, I am not a great baker. I can make savory baked goods like light biscuits and cornbread, but I am not a cookie baker. The best sweet baked goods I can offer are scones (my Healthy Apple Scones are my favorite). When Christmas comes around, I stick to the back of the Tollhouse cookie recipe or these hacks for sugar cookies using store-bought sugar cookie dough.
Snickerdoodles with Store-Bought Sugar Cookie Dough
This is by far the easiest of my store-bought sugar cookie dough hacks. Break off pieces of sugar cookie dough based on the serving size and roll in equal parts sugar and cinnamon. Flatten with a jar, and bake as directed. They are soft, chewy, and make the perfect easy snickerdoodle cookie.

Cranberry Orange Cookies with Store-Bought Sugar Cookie Dough
The second easiest of my store-bought sugar cookie dough hacks is my cranberry orange sugar cookies. These always impress my guests and they are a fancier cookie to impress your friends in your next cookie swap. You'll need 1/4 cup dried cranberries, the zest of one orange, and a splash of orange extract. The extract is optional, but really gives a nice boost of orange flavor to these. Roll them out, flatten them, and bake as directed according to the packaging.
Sprinkle Rolled Sugar Cookies using Store-Bought Dough
This is another really easy store-bought sugar cookie dough hack. Take a lined baking sheet and dump out sprinkles--a lot of them. Roll your cookie dough log in the sprinkles, slice, and bake as directed. For extra color, you can mix in jell food coloring. Be warned, however, that the jell food coloring can stain your hands. My girls love these and call them rainbow cookies.

Stained Glass Sugar Cookies with Store-Bought Sugar Cookie Dough
This, admittedly, is my more involved of the store-bought sugar cookie dough hacks. For stained glass sugar cookies, mix in 1/4 cup flour into your dough. Roll into a log, slice into cookies, and cut out an inner circle. Crush up a Jolly Rancher and place in the middle of the cookie. Bake for 8 minutes, let sit for ten, and then you'll have your stained glass cookies! These cookies work best with parchment paper or silicone mats.
