If you follow me on Instagram (@dwardcooks), you know that biscuits are basically a food group for me. My light biscuits recipe continues to be one of my most popular and most shared recipes.

Light biscuit dough is incredibly versatile
In my eBook: Dwardcooks Cornerstone Comfort Food, there is a whole section focused just on spin-offs of my original recipe. This post will highlight some of my favorite ways to repurpose biscuit dough into delicious options for every meal.
Biscuit basics: Equipment you need
My cast iron frying pan is one of my most-used and versatile cooking staples. I love the way that it keeps a consistent temperature. Honestly, it makes me feel a bit fancy when I cook with it.
I use this dough scraper when I want to cut the biscuits right in the pan or to shape scones. Also, it helps me to shape biscuits for my bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches (see below).
Biscuit cutters are a must for shaping perfectly round and well-sized biscuits, and I love using them for my one-pot chicken pot pie (see below).
Biscuits as breakfast
Ever since the road trip we took as a family two years ago, my kids love sausage gravy. This recipe combines my turkey breakfast sausage and light biscuits with a savory and slightly sweet gravy.
I've even combined sausage gravy and biscuits with a sunny side up egg for a twist on eggs benedict, which is my wife's restaurant breakfast of choice.

By adding various mix-ins, you can easily turn biscuit dough into sweet or savory scones. I've whipped up blueberry scones and pumpkin spice scones with the addition of a few ingredients. My ham and cheddar scones and cranberry orange scones are exclusively available in my eBook.

My biscuit breakfast sandwiches are an absolute meal-prep staple. I usually make a big batch on Sundays for the workweek. They reheat nicely and are far more filling than store-bought and fast food options.

Lunch and Dinner Biscuit Recipes
Chipotle chicken biscuit sandwiches take a bit of time to prep, but they're one of my all-time favorite recipes. This recipe combines chipotle mayonnaise, simple slaw, and oven-fried chicken. You will NOT feel like you're "eating healthy" with this masterpiece - but it is a totally awesome, WW-friendly recipe.

If it's one of those weeks where you have a bunch of chicken prepped and want to whip up a delicious meal quickly, try my skillet chicken pot pie. It sticks to the ribs and is healthy, hearty, and satisfying.

My other favorite light biscuit recipes include my baked beef empanadas and cheeseburger biscuit bombs. My newest addition to the light biscuit family is my cheddar drop biscuits, pictured below. This recipe is also an eBook exclusive.

And a little dessert

My peach cobbler recipe combines the sweet taste of a summer farmer's market with rich, buttery biscuit crumbles to top it all off.

Your lightened up biscuits are to die for! And I have started freezing the cut, raw biscuits on a parchment paper lined sheet pan. After they freeze, I bag them up in a freezer zip bag. They bake beautifully straight out of the freezer. It’s great for individual servings.
