Hot Pizza Dip is a Super Bowl classic I grew up with. It's creamy, cheesy, and absolutely delicious. To be honest, I was a little worried about making it lighter. I must say, this is incredible. It is such a simple party dip to make (you only dirty one dish), and your whole family will love this. Whether you make this for a movie night, a football game, or just a Tuesday evening, this hot pizza dip will be an easy, go-to party recipe.

Layered Pizza Dip
Hot pizza dip is all about the layers. For this pizza dip, I lightened up two of the three layers and then went a little lighter on the cheese. Layer one has 1/3 fat cream cheese mixed with Greek yogurt. My mom's original recipe is just cream cheese. While my mother would use parmesan liberally until it "felt right" I lessened this to two tbsp. Don't worry, it is not lacking flavor nor does the Greek yogurt ruin it--I promise.

The sauce I used for the pizza sauce is my weeknight marinara from my ebook, however you can use whatever zero point sauce you like. I have a Slow Cooker marinara on my blog. This is only 1 cup of sauce and there are eight portions. Go easy on yourself and use your favorite jar. Momma Dwardcooks would just use the cheap stuff for this since this is mostly cheese anyway.

The final layer is the cheese. In a typical casserole dish, my mother would use two big bags of cheese. It's phenomenal. She would then shake Italian seasoning and parmesan on top until it "felt right" and she'd be done. For this, I'm filling my pie plate pizza dip with just 1 cup of part skim mozzarella, a little more cheese, and a big pinch of Italian seasoning.
Weight Watchers Pizza Dip / Healthy Pizza Dip
Weight Watchers points wise, this whole thing is 36 points. Realistically, this will serve anywhere from 2-10 people. I'm saying realistically because I can easily eat the whole thing. It really depends on the variety of choices. I am more than content with having only hot pizza dip as a party snack and calling it a day. I would say that most people, however, would say it would serve 8.

As far as nutritional information goes, an eighth of this dip is only 116 calories, 3 grams of fat, and 14 grams of protein. For perspective, an egg is 78 calories, 5 grams of fat, and 6 grams of protein. If I was choosing between two eggs or pizza dip, hot pizza dip is winning every time.
What to serve with pizza dip
This is where your calories/points can rack up. Have I eaten this with a spoon hot and cold? You betcha. I sliced up an Amoroso roll simply because it was here. If I was having a party (not during a pandemic), I'd get a long, skinny baguette our grocery stores sell for $2. You can use chips, toasted bread, bagel slices, or GARLIC BREAD. It just depends on what kind of party you're having. You could use a vegetable like thick sliced red peppers (nature's Tostitos Scoops).

I made this Hot Pizza Dip for a small get together for a friends birthday and it was absolutely delicious. I served it with sliced and toasted baguette and tortilla chips. Both were great options and worked perfectly. This dip was definitely a crowd pleaser and will be made again!

We’ve made this dip twice now. The first time I felt like it needed a bit more sauce, so I added 1.5 cups this time. I also blended the cream cheese and yogurt mixture in a bow with a hand held mixer first. Added some turkey pepperoni to the top and it was perfect! I had frozen a batch of WW 2 ingredient pizza dough so we used that to dip the first time. Second time my husband took it to work for a birthday lunch and we sent a sliced loaf of Italian bread. He reported that it was promptly demolished and they have requested that we double the recipe next time 🙂
