This easy slow cooker pulled pork is amazing. There's no point of being humble. This is legit. One, it is a slow cooker recipe that requires no chopping, prep, or work. Two, this easily feeds a small army (more accurately a basketball team, I guess). Three, this makes a killer meal prep.
Pulled pork is one of those recipes people have always asked me to make for parties (back before Covid when parties were a thing). I love this easy pulled pork recipe because it can be made ahead and, again, is so easy.

What is the best brand of BBQ sauce on Weight Watchers?
There are plenty of awesome low sugar BBQ sauces out there. I have one in my ebook. For this recipe, I use Lillie's Q No Sugar BBQ sauce. You can read more about this and other BBQ sauces I recommend on my store bought BBQ sauce roundup post.

What is the best kind of meat for pulled pork?
Pork shoulder, also known as pork butt or Boston butt, is the best cut for pulled pork. Pork tenderloin will get so dry and it is really hard to shred. It's possible, but possible in the way that all things are possible. Seriously, get yourself a pork butt. At my grocery store, pork butt is also insanely cheap.

Hands off cooking
For this recipe, all you are going to need to do is rub the pork shoulder with the seasoning blend and cook in your slow cooker on high for six hours. If you want to cook on low, you need to cook it for 10 hours. It truly is an easy slow cooker pulled pork recipe.

Some FAQs about Pulled Pork
How much pork shoulder should I buy per serving?
This all depends on if you are serving this as a sandwich or as a main meat. Typically, pork shoulder will reduce in size by half. A serving of pork shoulder on its own will be roughly 1/3 pound of cooked pork.
That being said, for sandwiches you need less. This is portioned out at 1/2 cup servings of pork (with no sauce) and will yield 12 portions.
Do I need liquid for a slow cooker pulled pork?
No! While there are many recipes that will call for things like Dr. Pepper or apple cider vinegar, pork butt will naturally release a lot of juices and it is not needed. I promise.
Can I freeze pulled pork?
100% yes. Do it. Pulled pork freezes really well.
How do I reheat pulled pork?
My preferred method of reheating pulled pork is heating it in a dry skillet. This will rerelease the fat and liquid of the pork and crisp up the edges a bit. It's ideal. You can, however, add bbq sauce in a pot or slow cooker and add pork.

What other recipes can I use for pulled pork besides bbq pulled pork sandwiches?
Shredded pork is great for a lot of recipes. My favorite way to utilize pulled pork is in enchiladas, soup, tacos, stir fry, and lettuce wraps with rice and hoisin. I'll make a few recipes soon.

Confession: I’ve tried a million slow cooker recipes for pulled pork, and they never turn out well (that being said I’m going to try yours this week!) Usually, at the end of the allotted slow cook time, my pork is NOT “fork tender.” It’s tough and hard to shred. I’m never sure if that means I’m overcooking it or undercooking it? I hate to keep wasting money on meat that turns out inedible. Any advice??

Loved this recipe! We used it for pulled pork sandwiches and the most amazing enchiladas (pulled pork, chipotle in adobo, cream cheese, black beans, refried beans, corn, shredded cheese) All delicious. Going to try making Cubans with it next.
I would love to see a tutorial on how to best trim the meat. I think I should have done more than I did but it was easy to take off after the fact!
